Accent’s First ID™ service automates an extensive and costly investigative process using our proprietary system driven by activity codes that focus the search for true third party liability (TPL) cases. Additionally, our system has the ability to add client-specific proprietary codes to extend the TPL search.

First ID™ is able to identify up to three times the number of potential TPL cases than a health plan identifies internally through a combination of software and human expertise. We identify and validate true TPL cases and then return them to the payer to perform recovery internally.
 

Accent uses a combination of 368 ICD-9 trauma and E series codes in the primary, secondary and tertiary positions. The code list is evaluated annually to ensure completeness and accuracy. This annual evaluation provides our clients with only true TPL cases that generate a return without needless contact to your subscribers. 

Accent's investigation and validation process uses questionnaires, phone calls, and access to a National Bodily Injury Clearinghouse database at critical points in the process. Our approach results in response rates averaging 60-70%.
